Kelly Osbourne has closed the door on any possibility of repairing her relationship with her older sister, Aimee Osbourne, saying the two have grown so far apart that reconciliation is no longer something she expects, according to remarks she made on the Sept. 15 episode of the We Need to Talk podcast.

"If I'm honest, my older sister didn't really ever acknowledge me and my brother," Kelly said, referring to herself and younger brother Jack Osbourne. "She was just in her own world doing her own thing." When asked directly whether there was any hope for the siblings to mend fences, Kelly's answer was blunt: "No." She added, "I respect her. I accept her, but we're different, and that's okay."

The rift traces back years. While Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack opened their lives to cameras on MTV's The Osbournes, which ran for four seasons beginning in 2002, Aimee declined to take part. She later told The Michael Anthony Show in 2021 that appearing on the series "just felt extraordinarily nepotistic," and that she wanted to protect her private life and build a music career on her own terms.

Kelly, 41, said she has long sensed that her sister's distance ran deeper than a simple career choice. "I do, to a certain extent, if I'm honest, feel as though she was embarrassed of us. The whole family," she said on the podcast. "I'll never really truly understand. It just felt that way. We're very different. Everything I am, she's not. Everything she is, I'm not. It's like you couldn't be more polar opposite. We're like oil and water."

She also described the personal cost of growing up without that bond. "It's one of the hardest things in my life that I never got a big sister," Kelly said. "And I had to learn how to do certain things that a big sister should have taught you on my own." She acknowledged holding onto resentment, saying, "I do have a resentment there. I'll have that forever."

Kelly has spoken previously about the estrangement. On a 2024 episode of Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard, she said of Aimee, "We don't talk. We're just really different. She doesn't understand me, I don't understand her." E! News reached out to Aimee's agent for comment but had not received a response.

Aimee, born in September 1983, is the eldest of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's three children. She has pursued music under her own name and with the band ARO, and has taken select acting and voiceover roles, including MTV's 2003 adaptation of Wuthering Heights and the 2014 animated film Postman Pat: The Movie. Jack has also publicly addressed his own distance from Aimee.

The comments arrive as the Osbourne family continues to navigate life after Ozzy's death. The Black Sabbath frontman played his final show with the band in July 2025 and died weeks later at 76.

Why this matters
The Osbournes became one of the first families to turn their private lives into a hit reality franchise, and the show's success helped normalize the celebrity family docuseries format that dominates streaming today. Aimee's decision to sit it out made her an early example of a relative choosing privacy over the exposure that came with a famous surname. Kelly's remarks also reflect a broader cultural conversation about estrangement, as more Americans openly discuss cutting ties with family members rather than treating it as a taboo.
